What is FemTech all about?
Femtech is a term that refers to technological solutions and innovation addressing women’s issues. It is one of the most swiftly growing markets of our times.
After years of being overlooked, women’s related agenda is brought to the forefront, being discussed, creating new opportunities and a great innovation potential. Women are an immense market segment and with the rise of data, knowledge and awareness, the demand for better options is accelerating.
As a TECH INDUSTRY SECTOR Femtech encompasses any technology aimed at solving what’s known as womens’ issues or promoting gender equality. The term also represents the PROFESSIONAL STANDARD according to which - in order for a product or service to be successful, regardless of the field to which it belongs, it must be tailored to all genders.
On International Women's Day we take the opportunity to mark women’s achievements and equality. In the past two years, since FemTech Israel’s establishment, a festive event has been held to celebrate the occasion. An outstanding unique conference, featuring a series of short, impactful ‘TED’ style lectures - aimed at exposing the remarkable activity of the Israeli ecosystem in the field.

FemTech Israel Community
The community was founded by Shelly Bloch, a sociologist, UX research and product management professional, who specializes in gender aspects in technological innovation. The community is aimed at promoting innovation and technological solutions for women's needs and gender awareness throughout all stages of product development.
Founded in March 2021, the community reaches thousands of subscribers from various professional backgrounds: entrepreneurship, investment, product management, development, design, UX research, marketing, health and public sector, etc. The community appeals to a wide and diverse audience, thus is active on varied platforms: Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram and a monthly newsletter. As well as holds events (online and offline) on a variety of FemTech topics.
The community is a platform for discussion and consultation, learning and receiving practical tools, exposure to startups in the field, sharing relevant content and events, acquaintance and networking for the benefit of collaborations of all kinds.
